About the Author
I’m Akoparna B, an Indian writer who believes that words are not just meant to be read—they are meant to heal, confront, and transform.
I was born and raised in Asansol, West Bengal, a small city that quietly shaped my perspective on life and people. My journey with stories began long before I started writing them. Books were my comfort, my escape, and often, my understanding of the world.
By profession, I work in cybersecurity, but writing is where I allow myself to be completely honest. It’s my safe space—where vulnerability is not a weakness and nothing needs to be hidden.
I am deeply inspired by writers like Jane Austen, and by women who chose to stand strong in a world that often tried to hold them back.
Through my writing, I try to explore the raw and real—trauma, resilience, womanhood, and self-discovery—without filters.
About the book
The Burnt Sugar Club
“The Burnt Sugar Club” wasn’t planned. It happened.
It began with five women, one ordinary night, and a group chat name that meant nothing—until it meant everything.
What started as shared laughter over martinis and desserts slowly became something deeper—a space where unspoken pain could finally breathe.
Each woman carried her own scars:
the kind that don’t show,
the kind that are hidden behind smiles, jokes, and silence.
But somewhere between the bitterness and the burn, they found each other.
And in that connection, something changed.

3. More Than a Story—A Safe Space
